Getting away with God…

“And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed.” (Luke 5:16)

Jesus often went away to be with God.  In my reading this morning, I read about how Jesus withdrew Himself from the crowds (often with His disciples).  People were always coming to Him to be healed and to see His miracles.

Can you imagine if you made a reservation to get away alone and when you got to your destination, there were crowds waiting for you?  LOL!  Funny.  To some, this might not be so funny.

Regardless, Jesus still had compassion on all the people that were waiting for Him.  He said they were like sheep without a shepherd.  How compassionate is our God?  He is truly good to all.

Sometimes we need to get away with God, from all the hustle and bustle of this world.

Mark 6:30-34

New King James Version (NKJV)

Feeding the Five Thousand

30 Then the apostles gathered to Jesus and told Him all things, both what they had done and what they had taught. 31 And He said to them, “Come aside by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.” For there were many coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat. 32 So they departed to a deserted place in the boat by themselves.

33 But the multitudes saw them departing, and many knew Him and ran there on foot from all the cities. They arrived before them and came together to Him. 34 And Jesus, when He came out, saw a great multitude and was moved with compassion for them, because they were like sheep not having a shepherd. So He began to teach them many things.
